Traffic Exchanges are a great way to bring immediate traffic to your site or product. The problem is that most people just starting out don't know how to use the traffic exchanges in a way that brings them the most results. There are a few things you need to know to use traffic exchanges effectively:
1. Create a splash page. An individual who is surfing the traffic exchanges is only going to see your ad for 10-30 seconds. Your ad is going to have to stand out. Just sending people to your website won't do. There are plenty of sites that will allow you to create a free splash page if you don't have the money to hire someone to create one.
2. Study your competitions ads. Pay attention when you are surfing for credits. What ads jump out at you and make you want to click on them? What headlines do you see that are unique and catchy? You can get a good idea of what is working and not working by viewing and taking notes on your competition's ads.
3. Use Firefox as your browser. There is also a site called Crazy Browser you can use, but Firefox seems to work the best. This browser allows you to create a new tab. I suggest creating at least 7 tabs and then combining them together in a group. That way you can surf 7 traffic exchanges at once. If you have one group for each day of the week you can get 35-49 traffic exchanges surfed in 1 week.
4. Use a Page Rotator. If you have more than one site that you want to promote you can use a page rotator. The page rotator gives you 1 link to use in all the traffic exchanges, but keeps track of all your links and rotate's them automatically each time someone surfs from your given link. This is a very handy tool and there are sites online that will provide you with this service for free.
